Reporting to the Operational Services Manager- Operational Services Team (Cebu), you will play a key role in recording asset information through data capture to the geographic information system (GIS). On a as required basis, your responsibilities will include:
  • The recording, capture and maintenance of ‘as laid’ or ‘as constructed’ gas mains and other assets to the GIS and other systems in an accurate and timely manner
  • Preparation of high quality plans, maps and drawings to support field services activities
  • Analysis of the GIS system and creation of reports using data obtained from the GIS
  • Develop maps, web maps and related information for field services projects
  • Creation and printing of ‘as is’ or ‘as built’ drawings from the GIS, including field and other mapping data/products
  • Preparation of proposal and ‘to be constructed’ plans and drawings, and detail drawings and schematics using GIS/CAD
To excel in this position you will have the following skills, experience, qualifications and attributes:
  • At least 3 years’ experience in practising as a GIS Officer (preferred)
  • Good working knowledge of GIS software – ESRI ArcGIS mandatory (ArcFM, AutoCAD and GE Smallworld knowledge highly desirable)
  • Experience with using Model Builder and Python highly desirable
  • GIS analysis and reporting skills using data obtained within the GIS
  • Degree qualifications in GIS, Surveying or related discipline preferred
  • Experience in a utilities related organisation/company highly regarded
  • Skills in ArcCatalog for improvement of the departmental spatial environment desirable
