Is currently looking for:
Overall Purpose:
  • To lead and manage the department so that it realizes its potential and delivers excellence in the full portfolio of academic activity, within the context of the operation and strategic development of the Faculty and the Institution.
Primary Responsibilities:
  • To contribute to the formation of strategy and plans at Faculty level, through engagement with the Management and Faculty colleagues, environment scanning and assessment of opportunities and risks
  • Manage curriculum review, supervising teacher quality assessment periodically, managing the accreditation of school courses, assisting with releasing the school’s annual research report, attending school committee meetings, ensuring student examination arrangements, conform set requirements of the school, monitoring the process of recruitment, admission and induction of students, enforcing policies stipulated in the school’s regulations, and  arranging training for staff
  • To support and develop academic leadership in the department and wider community
  • Ensuring effective representation of the Department’s interests within and outside the Institution
  • Ensuring that the activities of the Department are undertaken in accordance with the governance, policy and regulatory frameworks of the University
  • In coordination with the Office, assess needs in staff, review applicants, and recruit qualified national staff.
  • On a quarterly basis, evaluate all direct subordinates and organize direct subordinates for the evaluation of all teachers.
  • Implement and obey the company rules and policies
  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Business Administration, International Relations, or Political Sciences required. Masters degree or equivalent preferred but not required.
  • Must have a teaching or managing an institution experience  either public or private
  • Female/Male
  • High level of written and verbal communication skills, ability to encourage teamwork and solicit ideas of teachers, excellent analytical and problem solving skills and advanced knowledge in implementing plans to respond to academic-related issues
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills including negotiation and influencing
  • Experience of effectively line-managing individual members of staff and teams
  • Integrity: Keeping promises, following through on commitments, demonstrating the values expected of others
